  • Ashley Hess

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

(she/her/hers) A third generation farmer, Ashley has been a market vendor, farm worker and farm owner. She understands the importance of a strong local food system and the power that Farmer’s Markets have to bolster business for farms of all sizes.

Outside of work and family time, Ashley serves on the Farmer’s Market Fund Board of Directors and enjoys dedicating time to help bring more local food to folks in Oregon.

Ashley comes to this role with more than 15 years of nonprofit experience and looks forward to building on the work of OFMA to help strengthen Oregon’s agricultural scene as OFMA’s second Executive Director.

  • Amanda Cross

    PROGRAM MANAGER

(she/her/hers) Amanda has been working for farmers markets for twelve years, getting her start in Minneapolis as a vendor at a student farm and later managing markets in Seattle and Portland.

Best part of moving from the midwest to the northwest was the discovery that cherries and peaches are actually delicious when they come from nearby, and that seeing a mountain can be an everyday thing.

She was drawn to OFMA in 2019 excited to support Oregon’s market managers in the complex operation of running a farmers market. She coordinates OFMA’s Farmers Market Learning Network, and provides technical assistance to markets needing guidance offering EBT/SNAP programs.

She finds community in being freezing hot, swimming the Willamette year-round and loving to sauna.
